Story

There is something incredibly special about setting out on this journey together, two Armenian women and friends. Life scatters Armenians across countries, cultures and corners of the world, yet the connection between us runs deeper than geography. However far apart we begin, we always seem to find our way to one another. Taking part in Cash & Rocket together is a celebration of that bond. It speaks to the strength and resilience of a people who, through all the hardships of their history, have carried their identity, traditions and sense of belonging across generations and borders. But this is about something far bigger than the two of us. It is about what becomes possible when women come together, empower one another, and turn their collective strength into real change. That spirit of connection and community is what makes Cash & Rocket so meaningful to us, and we are proud to be joining an inspiring group of women from around the world, united by a shared desire to give back. We cannot wait for the adventure ahead: the people we will meet, the memories we will make, and above all the chance to turn this journey into something that makes a genuine difference in the lives of others. Wherever the road takes us, we are proud to travel it together.

Lara Verdian

Lara Verdian is a British-Australian executive with proud Armenian heritage. Her career has taken her from the pharmaceutical industry and health economics, exploring the human and economic impact of disease, into Fintech and financial services, with a continuing interest in how innovation and technology can transform healthcare and improve people’s lives. A passionate art collector, she is fascinated by the intersection of art and science, the idea of art has a potential to cure, and the power of creativity to connect, inspire and create change. Cash & Rocket brings together many of the things Lara values: adventure, friendship, community and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference alongside an extraordinary group of women.

Alice Tanielian

Born and raised in London, Alice is a British Armenian and after studying Classics at The University of London she has dedicated much of her time to raising her family, philanthropy and causes close to her heart. For several years, Alice has served on the committee of the LOVE GOSH Gala, raising vital funds for the Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital, as well as supporting the hospital’s Sight & Sound Gala. Her Armenian heritage is equally important to her, and she has supported numerous causes in Armenia, including the Women’s Support Center, the Pyunik Centre for Disabled People and Save Armenian Monuments, among many others. Alice has also dabbled in film production, most notably working on Armenia Uncovered, a documentary created to share the beauty, history and culture of Armenia with a wider audience. A devoted mother of two, Alice loves travel, culture and bringing people together. She believes strongly in making a positive impact and, perhaps most importantly, in showing her children the importance of giving back. She is drawn to Cash & Rocket for the friendship, adventure and incredible collective power of women coming together to make a genuine difference.
